Emerson was born in New York City and grew up in Bogota, Colombia, Louisville KY, Mexico City, and Buffalo NY. She got her bachelor’s degree in English and Economics from Wellesley College in 1980.

Writing has always been an important part of Emerson’s life - freelance writing for the Chicago SunTimes, the Chicago Tribune, and several magazines, books for her family and friends, and technical writing.  Pamela Goes Home is her second unpublished novel.

To make money, Emerson began her career in New York in international wealth management then moved to Chicago to work in capital markets risk management.  She and her husband Bob Nagel, a computer graphic artist, opened Emerson’s Garden, a city garden shop.  She left banking to have children (Nathaniel and Katherine), and the family moved to Mexico in 2005.  Once established there, Emerson founded a recruiting practice (www.ehnagel.com), providing risk management recruiting and management consulting to the financial services industry.

Emerson has travelled in 36 countries and lived in 5.  She speaks English, Spanish and rusty French.  She lives in a small magic town in Mexico with her husband on a small fruit orchard, with a lot of cats, dogs and fish.

Emerson's new book How to Write The Best Resume: If You Are A Senior Executive  is currently available on Amazon for free with Kindle Unlimited, or for the e-book $4.59, for the paperback $9.99.  She'd love it if you'd buy a copy and let her know what you think.
